Moving Tips...
As
moving day approaches here are a few tips to prepare for a successful and efficient move:
Go through each room in
your home and evaluate if there are items you no longer need or use. Consider donating them to a charitable
organization - less items for you to move later.
Start packing early! Pack out of season items and
items in storage areas that you won't need prior to your move.
Pack items in boxes rather than plastic bags.
Boxes are easier to stack in a truck and will keep your items safe.
Wrap fragile items in buble wrap
and/or packaging material to protect them from breakage.
Avoid wrapping items in newspaper because the ink
may rub off on the item(s) wrapped inside.
Have cell phones and/or walkie talkies charged and ready
for you and others involved in your move.
Have phone numbers handy for anyone involved with your move.
Label boxes as you pack them with the room to which they should go to in the new location.
Label any boxes
that contain fragile items or items that need special care.
Use a suitcase or duffle bag to pack last minute
essentials, medications, or any items that you may need to access the day of your move.
Contact cable,
lawn care, post office and utility companies prior to your move to schedule discontinuation of service at your
current location and start service at your new location.
